Go the following web site: http://microsites.jfklibrary.org/cmc/oct16/  The page references John F. Kennedy and goes into detail about his actions and those of the US government during the 13 day standoff over Cuba.  Your question is to research the 13 days and comment on which single day was the most significant to the nonviolent outcome of the crisis.  What documents help point you to that conclusion?

Good evening my little rays of sunshine, My apologies for being a few hours late on your discussion forum.  It is at this time of the year that my family enjoys a little rivalry.  The first weekend in March is a special time in the Ferreira household, what time is it you ask?   It is the annual running of the Iditarod Sled dog Race…  What is the Iditarod and what is a sled dog race, well simply put...  A sled dog race is an endurance race in which a musher (human) is pulled on his sled by a team of up to 16 dogs.  Typically these sled dogs are bred to be strong, agile, and endurance performers.  The dogs are usually a hybrid of Alaskan Husky, Siberian Husky, Malmutes, or they could be purebred as several teams prefer.  If you are not sure what a sled dog looks like see the image below of a lazy and spoiled Siberian husky who can barely make it five miles before sleeping the rest of the day.   My wife, daughters and myself choose a team (Musher and dogs) and compete with each other to see who finishes first.  The Iditarod is the longest and most famous of the sled dog races.  Teams compete against each other, the forbidding Alaska terrain, arctic temperatures, isolation, boredom, and at times survival.  Attached is a trailer of an animated movie that gives a bit of background on the true event which the race is modeled after. Your task, should you choose to accept and I hope you will because it is a passion of mine and I enjoy sharing my passions with you as well.  Go to the linked website http://iditarod.com/race/2017/mushers/ and choose a team to support, post on the discussion forum  your choice as well as why you chose that team (3 doubloons for the choice) The official race begins on Monday March 6th so I will be accepting your team choices during our typical discussion week closing at 11:59 on Sunday March 5th.  If you have questions please let me know.  Help us to make this a fun Ferreira class event.
