Thisextracurricular activity is an auxiliary unit that performs with the"Spirit of Stonewall" at all home games, parades, and marching contests.The group spins weapons, dances, and performs flag routines to theband's music. During the winter, the guard performs alone in theAtlantic Indoor Association and in our national circuit, WGI. Both falland winter guard are extremely competitive units that have built a greatreputation because of their high performance level. As a result, theStonewall guards have received many awards over the past few yearsincluding:

At the 2012 Atlantic Indoor Association Championships in Raleigh, NorthCarolina, the guard scored 1st place in the captions of movement andequipment AND captured the SILVER Medal in class A2 (out of 14competitors).

2010 Winter Guard Recap and Team Awards!
Congratulations to the Stonewall Jackson Winter Guard for a terrific season! This season the guard won:
-1st place in all categories and 1st overall in SRA (out of 12 competitors) at the Mills Godwin Competition
-2nd place overall at the Thomas Jefferson Show
-1st place in the captions of movement and equipment; AND the 2010Atlantic Indoor Association Silver Medalist in SRA (out of 25competitors) at Championships in Chesapeake, VA!

Stonewall Winter Guard Captures the Gold
Congratulationsto the Stonewall Jackson Maroon Winter Guard for a terrific winterseason and for earning the GOLD MEDAL in the Scholastic A3 Class at the2008 Atlantic Indoor Association Championships! Stonewall beat out 13other guards from North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland with a finalsscore of 82.25. Great job guard!
Edison Winter Guard Competition 2008 Results
Congratulationsto the Stonewall Winter Guard Ensembles for great performances at theEdison HS Winter Guard Competition on March 29th. Stonewall JacksonGold had a great final show and ended their season by capturing secondplace in Ensemble and a third place score in GE in Novice Class (of sixcompetitors). Stonewall Jackson Maroon had a terrific run and capturedfirst place in all captions as well as first place overall in ScholasticA3 (of five competitors). Stonewall Maroon's score of an 80.7 was thesecond highest score in Scholastic A-class that day regardless of class!Congrats Stonewall.
Fauquier's 2008 Music 'N Motion Competition
Congratulationsto the Stonewall Jackson Maroon and Gold Winter Guard teams for greatperformances at the Fauquier High School Music 'N Motion Competition.In their new category of A3, the Maroon Team placed 1st in GE, Movement,and Ensemble. In addition, they captured first place overall (out ofsix) with a score of 70.10. The Gold Team placed 2nd in movement andequipment and placed third overall. Congrats to both units!
2008 Spartan Spectacular @ Broad Run HS Results!
Congratulationsto both the Stonewall Jackson Winter Guard Gold Team and the MaroonTeam for great performances at the Spartan Spectacular Winter
GuardCompetition. The Gold team placed 1st in Equipment Skills and 2nd placeoverall in Novice Class (out of four groups). The Maroon Team placed 1stin Equipment Skills, Movement, Ensemble, General Effect, and won 1stplace overall in Regional A Class (of 15 groups). The Maroon Team'sscore of an 80.5 was the highest score of the day and qualified them tobe promoted to the next highest class division. Congratulations guards!
2008 Winter Classic at Oakton High School Results
Congratulationsto the Stonewall Jackson Winter Guard Maroon Team for a very strongfirst showing at the Winter Classic. Out of 10 groups competing inRegional A, Stonewall placed first in the captions of Equipment,Ensemble, General Effect, and grabbed first place overall with a scoreof 65! Great job guard!
USSBA- Marine Corps Invitational Results
Congratulationsto the marching band and colorguard for a strong placing in their lastcompetition. Out of the eight bands in IIIA, the colorguard won firstplace and the marching band took third overall. In addition, out of the31 bands present, the guard's score was the third highest of the day!This win completed an UNDEFEATED season for the color guard. Thanks foran excellent Fall!

Deep Run Competition Results
Congratulationsto the SJHS Color Guard and Marching Band for an award-winningperformance at the Deep Run show. Out of seven competitors in AA, theguard won first place. In addition, the guard once again received one ofthe highest scores of the day! Overall the marching band placed firstin General Effect, scored second in Percussion, and won third place bandin AA. Great job!
North Stafford Competition Results
Congratulationsto the SJHS Color Guard and Marching Band for a good first show. Theguard won 1st place in AA and received one of the highest guard scoresof the day. Overall, the marching band won 2nd place marching, 3rd placegeneral effect, and 2nd place overall in AA. Good job!
